Mecklenburg recycling upgrade comes to campus

Mecklenburg county is now accepting more types of plastic products at its recycling centers. That includes on-campus recycling bins!
Recyclable
So what’s included? The easiest way to remember is: if you can drink from it, you can probably recycle it!
Any drink container you buy on campus — hard plastic cups, paper cups, plastic bottles, glass bottles and metal drink cans — can go into the blue recycling bins.
Not recyclable
Styrofoam cups purchased off campus are not recyclable.
Lids and straws should be disposed of in regular trash bins.
Don’t forget to empty containers of leftover liquid and ice before recycling.
