Spring meal plans on sale, sales tax increase

Spring 2027 meal plans are now on sale. One percent sales tax increase goes into effect.

Spring 2027 meal plans are now on sale in Starrez. The last day to buy or change a meal plan is Thursday, Jan. 7, 2027.

Students who purchased a meal plan in the fall will be automatically enrolled in the same plan in the spring. First-year resident students and residents in required housing must choose meal plans that fit their housing requirements.

Sales tax increase

Effective July 1, 2026, Mecklenburg county increased its sales tax rate its sales tax rate by one percent.

This tax increase was not applied to fall meal plan prices, but it will be reflected in meal plan prices going forward. You can view the updated prices for all spring 2027 meal plans on the Dining website.
